Hi, I am Bilin.

Hi, I’m Bilin :) I recently earned my HBSc from the University of Toronto, with double majors in Computer Science and Statistics. I’m now joining the University of Waterloo as a PhD student in Biostatistics.

With a keen interest in health data science, I have participated in computational research about:

• Building bioinformatic pipelines for mapping variant effect of genetic mutations.
• Evaluating the performance of methods for handling missing data in clinical trials through simulation.
• Investigating the influence of global disease burdens on data science methodologies via systematic literature review.

I’ve also worked on some fun projects, including developing a community safety web app and designing a learning management database.

My future research interests include:

• Modeling with life history data with potential integration of machine learning methods.
• Formulating statistical methods to address missing data problems in Randomized Controlled Trials.
• Building statistical softwares to tackle real-world problems.

Outside of academics, I enjoy baking, visiting museums, appreciating the beauty of nature, and sipping good coffee :)
